Christopher "DJ Caipo" Caipo is an American-Peruvian open-format DJ with 25 years of experience entertaining crowds throughout Southern California and beyond.
The Story
Born to Move the Crowd
Born in Panorama City, California, Caipo relocated to the Temecula Valley following the 1994 Northridge earthquake. His passion for music and nightlife began in the Inland Empire, where he first became involved as a promoter and music enthusiast before stepping behind the turntables.
Early in his career, Caipo learned from respected Southern California DJs including V-Real, RPM and Loczi — experiences that helped shape both his technical skills and ability to read a crowd. By 2007, he was performing regularly throughout the Inland Empire and San Diego County, eventually holding a two-year residency at Baily's Eleven After Dark in Temecula.
His career continued to expand when he became part of Warrior DJs, the DJ coalition founded by multi-platinum recording artist Wyclef Jean. Caipo would later begin working alongside Layzie Bone of the legendary Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, becoming his DJ and spending years performing, traveling and building relationships throughout the music industry. Still with him today!
Today, DJ Caipo brings that same experience to everything from nightclubs and concerts to weddings, quinceañeras, corporate events and private celebrations. His open-format style allows him to move comfortably between R&B, Hip-Hop, Latin, Reggaeton, Throwbacks, Pop, EDM, Country and more — tailoring every event to the people in front of him rather than relying on a predetermined playlist.
